LEX KABY - Director & Intimacy Director/Coordinator

Lex Kaby (she/her) is a Director and certified Intimacy Director & Coordinator based in Bath, Bristol and London. Lex is certified by SAG-AFTRA accredited Intimacy Directors & Coordinators (NYC) and has an MA in Theatre Directing from Bath Spa University. She works as the in-house Director for Greedy Pig Theatre Company Ltd and has directed all of the company’s productions and projects to date. As well as this, Lex has worked extensively as a Director for Rare Productions.
Lex's is driven by bold and politically challenging theatre as well as comedic and naturalistic new writing.
She is passionate about working with exciting, progressive scripts and forward-thinking creatives. Lex enjoys playing with form, working with physical movement, surrealism and naturalism. Her research centres around the ways in which actors and directors portray gender, human connection and intimacy on the stage.
Lex has 100+ hours of training in Intimacy Direction with IDC and has trained in Level 1 Foundations of Intimacy, Level 2 - Applications of Consent & Intimacy, and Level 3 & 4 Certification Program (2023 cohort). Lex has a strong focus on creating safer and more consent-forward rehearsal spaces in every project that she approaches. Lex has also trained extensively with Theatrical Intimacy Education (TIE) with a total of 35+ hours of training hours.
Recent theatre credits include: Hot Mess - Birmingham Hippodrome (Intimacy Director); Reverberation - Bristol Old Vic (Assistant Director); The Beautiful Future Is Coming - Bristol Old Vic (Intimacy Director); 42 Balloons - The Lowry Theatre, Salford (Intimacy Director); The Monstrum - The Egg, Theatre Royal Bath (Director); Wendy: A Peter Pan Story - The Egg, Theatre Royal Bath (Assistant Director); Peacock - Greedy Pig Theatre Company (Director); Spoil Me - Greedy Pig Theatre Company (Director); The Stolen Winter Light - Greedy Pig Theatre Company (Director).

KIRSTIE DAVIS - Director

Kirstie has been a theatre director for over 30 years. For six years she was the Associate Director and then Acting Artistic Director of Watford Palace Theatre where she directed acclaimed productions of Top Girls, The Daughter-in-law and The Beauty Queen of Leenane. She was CEO and Artistic Director of Forest Forge from 2009 to 2016 where she commissioned and directed 20 new plays, which included: Free Folk by Gary Owen, the first adaptations of The Wolves of Willoughby Chase and Stardust by Russ Tunney and Woman of Flowers by Kaite O’Reilly.
Recent projects include: The Rise and Fall of Vinnie and Paul by Neil Bastian at The Glitch, Waterloo; The Massive Tragedy of Madame Bovary by John Nicholson at the Southwark Playhouse ;The Bear Who Went to War by Alan Pollock at The Albany, Coventry; Robin Hood and Alice in Wonderland by Andrew Pollard at The Dukes Theatre, Lancaster ;Kiss me Quickstep by Amanda Whittington at Queens Theatre, Hornchurch; Daddy Long Legs by Paul Gordon and John Caird and The Girl on the Train by Rachel Wagstaff and Duncan Abel at The Barn Theatre, Ladies That Bus and the sequel Ladies That Dig by Joyce Branagh, both of which went on national tours and a revival of The Wolves of Willoughby Chase, and Tom’s Midnight Garden by David Wood at The Minack Theatre.
She is a regular director at Bath Spa, Mountview, East 15 and Birmingham Conservatoire.

EMMA WILLIAMS - Director

Emma is a writer and theatre director with over twenty years’ experience. She creates performances for diverse audiences working collaboratively across art forms. Her roles range from Director, facilitator dramaturge and writer. She has regular co-created shows with: Opposable Thumbs (Big Boys Don’t Cry), Pickled Image (Wolf Tales, Shop of Little Horrors, and Woodland Tales), Green Ginger (Intronauts), and Vic Llewelyn & Kid Carpet (The Castle Builder and A Little Death). Touring productions include Baba’s Song by In Our Hands and We are Lightning by Sam Halmarack and Joseph O’Farrell.
She has directed in house productions for The Tobacco Factory Theatres, Bath Theatre Royal, and The Bristol Old Vic. She has developed outdoor performances for Activate, Strike A light, Cheltenham Literary Festival, Dorset Wildlife Trust and National Theatre of Wales. She recently directed the two-month sell out production MDH: Puppets do a Movie at the Wardrobe Theatre.

ED VINEY - Director
Ed Viney has worked with a number of theatres, writing and directing UK tours. He is the recipient of the Creative Scotland Four Nations Award, working with partners in Wales and New England, USA, to create new work for small-scale touring; and received a Peggy Ramsay Award. Ed is the Festival Director of The Script’s The Thing which last year saw over 70 scripts being presented, linking with venues across Dorset and organisations including BBC Writersroom and National Theatre New Work.
